View Maps by Region
The collection of antique maps contains maps of different geographies and time periods that reflect the ever changing political map of the world. It also maps of many the great voyages of exploration (e.g., the voyages of Captain Cook, Bligh and Vancouver) and expeditions of exploration (e.g., Stanley’s journey of sub-Saharan Africa to find Livingston). Not All the images of the maps are included in the current website of the Gallery, but a sampling is provided. Pictures are being taken and they will be added from time to time.
We have worked with friends of the gallery to identify maps that have special meaning to a loved one such as a families historic region of ancestry or a region or time period of personal or academic interest. We work with our own collection and liaise with dealers and private collectors.
